Even by most child-star standards, Lindsay Lohan has had a tumultuous career with drugs, alcohol, and legal problems. That’s why, after she was recently dropped from the new movie The Other Side, we were delighted to hear Lohan’s been cast to play a role seemingly tailor-made for her: iconic porn star Linda Lovelace.
Lohan has been cast to star in the independent film Inferno, a biopic about Lovelace, who starred in the 1972 groundbreaking adult movie Deep Throat, the most successful hardcore pornographic film of all time. Set for release next year, Inferno is based on Lovelace’s 1980 biography Ordeal and is being produced by a group from Hero Entertainment and Muse Productions.
As a fellow troubled movie star, portraying the original LiLo (whose real name is Linda Boreman) seems like a slam-dunk for Lohan. The movie revolves around Lovelace and her relationship with Chuck Traynor, a violent and controlling man who would eventually become her manager and pimp.
Lohan should have no problem relating to her character. She has years of experience with her father Michael Lohan to draw upon.
Inferno could serve as an opportunity for Lohan to help repair her tarnished reputation, sort of like a cinematic halfway house. It’s a film that can help her get back on her feet … by showing her getting on her knees.
Besides being emotionally damaged with daddy issues, Lohan’s gravelly voice will make her portrayal even more genuine. Who better to play the woman who helped make the term “deep throat” part of our vernacular than someone who sounds like she’s been going balls deep for decades?
