At the risk of pulling a Joe Barton, we’re lauding a controversial personality for recently doing something that many believe may be criminal. While detractors may call him a child pornographer, we call him an agent of fate.
Discussions about possible charges against Hollywood celebrity blogger Perez Hilton erupted last month after he posted a link to an uncensored upskirt photo of Miley Cyrus on his Twitter account. The potential legal issues stem from the fact that the pop star is 17 years old and was reportedly not wearing underwear.
Perez warned his 2 million followers with the comment, “If you are easily offended, do NOT click here. Oh, Miley! Warning: truly not for the easily offended!”
Of course, such a warning seems superfluous for Hilton’s fans. Anyone who follows him would probably classify “2 Girls 1 Cup” as merely “slightly disturbing.”
Now, needless to say, Red Shtick Magazine does not condone child pornography. In fact, it’s unclear whether Cyrus was actually going commando since the photo, which was taken from several dozen feet away, was pixilated in a manner to disguise her Hannah Vajannah region.
Irrespective of whether or not Hilton broke the law, the brutal truth is that Hilton was simply acting as destiny’s accomplice in helping Miley follow the path the fates have laid out for her: adult film star. In January 2008, Red Shtick publisher Jeremy White explained in painstaking detail how “the stars are perfectly, yet tragically, aligned” for Miley to have a prolific porn career.
The transformation’s already started. It started a couple of years ago with a controversial photo shoot for Vanity Fair. Today, she’s being criticized for skimpy concert outfits (some showing almost more than the picture Hilton posted) and her edgy single “Can’t Be Tamed.” Tomorrow, she’ll be on camera doing a reverse cowgirl with Justin Bieber (who is also doomed to a less-than-stellar fate).
Perez Hilton’s actions can only help Miley overcome any last vestiges of modesty she might have, which is very important for her future endeavors. Outside of AIDS, shame is the biggest impediment to a successful porn career.
We also give Hilton credit for having the courage to stand behind his actions. Rather than apologizing when ABC pulled advertising for The View from his site (because Disney owns both the network and Miley Cyrus), he said he’d do it again.
And what does he have to be sorry for, anyway? Miley seemingly has no problem with wearing an extremely short skirt and exiting a car in a rather unladylike fashion in front of dozens of paparazzi at a red carpet event. Do people honestly expect these photographers — the dregs of Hollywood society — to erase the unavoidable crotch shots just because she’s 17?
